The Abid al-Shira, 'purchased slaves' are units made of Sudanese slaves. Used in regiments based in the bigger cities as infantry and more commonly missile troops. These troops are armed with a composite bow, and have only a knife to fight with. This and their light armour makes them poorly suited to melee.
