The Korean Guardsmen are the most reliable
of the Korean auxiliaries. Their weapons and
armour are similar to Japanese Naginata, but
they are not as powerful in combat, and lack
the Japanese appetite for combat. They are
however a little faster than their Japanese
counterparts.
Extra info:
(Chinese) Guardsmen are the assault infantry
units available to the Mongols. Although relatively
slow moving, they are better armed and equipped
than the Spearmen and are armed with a large
glaive-like pole arm. This is a broad-bladed cutting
weapon on a pole anything up to 2.5 metres in
length, but it isn’t quite as effective as the samurai
naginata. These troops are well able if deployed in
a melee, but will take casualties closing with missile
troops of any kind.
