The Hasham, 'Guards', are Mamluks selected to be the Sultan's bodyguards and personal regiment. Only kept by Sultans rich and powerful enough to field them, these elite and loyal troops are protected by heavy mail and are armed with a lance for charging and a wicked scimitar for when things get close and personal.
